Proactive boat care

What is Proactive boat care?

Proactive boat care is a marina’s service, where marina as a service provider takes proactive care of the customers’ boats and informs them of this either via weekly email reports or via the Proactive Boat Care mobile application. To make the proactive care complete, each of the boats in the marina can be photographed once a week and the customer receives the photo of his boat in the weekly report or via the PBC mobile application.

Why Proactive boat care?

Proactive Boat Care allows the customers to keep up with the activities the marina carries out in regard to their boat.

The customer can check which activities were carried out, when and by whom. According to our surveys, the customers love this service because they can rest easy knowing that their boats are being checked regularly and that the marina staff will react promptly if required.

Additionally, the Proactive Boat Care system allows customers to install specialised sensors on their boats. These sensors then inform both the customer and the marina of any major hazards to that boat - fire, water intrusion, and the customer can also track the state of his batteries. In this guide, we will focus only on the marina end of things.

Marina-wide information

However, first things first... In order to check the Proactive care status of the boats in your marina, click the Proactive care module in the main menu.

You will see a screen similar to the one below, showing the total of the daily made inventory of berths and boats:

All activities logged by the marina staff via the Marinacloud dock walk mobile application are displayed in this module.

Above the large "Search" text, you will see two tabs: Contracts and Activities.

The Contracts tab displays a list of all contract boats in your marina as checked during the latest daily dock walk. All the information here should be fairly self-explanatory, but for an overview of berth statuses, we suggest you visit this page under Berth statuses.

The Activities tab displays the list of the latest activities carried out on individual boats via the dock walk mobile application.

Once an activity has been logged via the dock walk mobile application, it will appear in Marinacloud.

The person in charge of supervising the logged activities can then review and manage the carried out activities by clicking the Approve button to the far right of the activity, or by clicking the Edit button  to the left. Unwanted activities can also be deleted.
It is also possible to register a new activity for contract vessels by using the "Add new" button, and the activities now also have an additional classification:
Public - visible to the marina staff, but also to boat owners via the Proactive Care weekly report after approval
Internal - visible only to the marina staff.

Activities can be approved in batches by selecting the desired activities and clicking the "Approve selected" button. Activities that are not approved will not be shown in the Proactive Care weekly report sent to the boat owners.

Additionally, you can quickly notify a customer of any activity carried out on their contract boat. To do so, simply click the "Send" button for the appropriate activity and a mailing window will pop up.
