Technology has profoundly changed the way we live, work and do business. Marinas are obviously no exception to this rule; in order to stay afloat, we have to embrace changes and adapt to new market trends.

This statement comprises the philosophy and motivation behind the Marinacloud project. We assembled a team of experienced marina managers and IT engineers who spent years developing and modelling the best operational procedures of a successful marina in the digital age. Our goal was not to create 'just another marina software package', but to provide a complete digital transformation of the way marinas do business in the modern age.

Innovation, creativity and commitment make up the foundation for every line of code we wrote in Marinacloud. We are exploring state-of-the-art technology like the Internet of Things, Business Intelligence, Boat automation and finding innovative ways how to implement them to improve marina operations. We work in accordance with the principles of continuous improvement and make our product better with every-monthly update.


Everything begins with the customer 

The concept of Marinacloud starts with the customer. The customer is a starting point to provide any service in a marina. It is only if you have a customer that you can offer and provide services, sign contracts or do any other meaningful activity. A  single customer can have one or more contracts with the marina and all of his contracts will be separately charged and managed. However, all of the charged contracts are visible in the customer's account. The marina has a relationship with each customer. That relationship is based on one or several contracts signed between the customer and the marina. There are customers without signed contract with marina - those are daily visitors or customer that only occasionally use marina services.  

We can conclude that the main actors are the customer and the marina. 

What about the boats?

Most of the contracts in the marina are mooring / berth contracts. Every boat is the subject of a berth contract between the customer and the marina. Whenever there is a change in the ownership of the boat, the existing berth contract with the old owner is to be terminated, and a new contract with the new owner is to be signed.

It's important to remember that a contract is an agreement between two parties - the customer and the marina.

Boats (or garages, storage boxes, office spaces...) are a objects of a contract between a customer and a marina.

Contracts, Invoices, quotes... 

The customer and the marina have to come to an agreement in order to sign a berth contract - at which point, the marina will charge the berth's fee. Prior to signing a contract, the customer has accept the berth offered by the marina. By charging the annual berth fee, thanks to Marinacloud, we follow the charging and payment dynamic of every contract. Remember that the annual fee should the paid at the beginning of the contract period.
